River Oaks Hospital, a 160-bed acute care general hospital serves as a major healthcare resource for the Jackson Metropolitan Area and central Mississippi.  River Oaks features caring people, advanced technology and state of the art procedures to fight disease, minimize pain and speed recovery.  We are fully accredited by the Joint Commission and by the state of Mississippi.  
    
With over 450 physicians on our medical staff we offer specialized medical and surgical services including bariatric & metabolic surgery, breast surgery, cardiac catheterization, critical care, family medicine, gastroenterology, general & thoracic surgery, internal medicine, lithotripsy, neurosurgery, obstetrics/gynecology, orthopaedic, otolaryngology, pain management, plastic surgery, renal dialysis, urology and vascular surgery.  We also provide a 24-hour emergency department.  According to Health Grade’s tenth annual Hospital Quality in America Study, River Oaks was ranked #1 in Mississippi for overall orthopaedic services and joint replacement surgery.  We were also ranked in the top 10% of the nation for Spine Surgery for four years in a row.
      
A major expansion and renovation project at River Oaks Hospital, the Vision Project, was finished and opened August, 2009.  This first phase of the Vision Project consists of 145,299 square feet of new construction and added fifty patient beds to our Hospital’s license to accommodate growth in medical/surgical admissions, obstetrical admissions and deliveries, and neonatal patient care.     When all phases of construction are complete, 81 new beds will be added to the River Oaks Hospital campus, increasing the number of total beds from 110 to 191. 

We are located in Rankin County in Flowood, Mississippi, east of Jackson, the state capital. Rankin is one of the three counties that comprise the majority of the Metro Jackson population of over 750,000 and enjoy some of the highest per capital income and population growth rates in the nation.
