River Oaks Hospital was ranked #1 in the state for overall orthopedic services and #1 in the state for joint replacement by HealthGrades, the leading healthcare ratings organization in the U.S.  River Oaks Hospital was also the only hospital in Mississippi to receive the HealthGrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award and to be ranked in the top 5% in the nation for joint replacement.

Among other achievements the hospital was rated five-star for total knee replacement and total hip replacement.  This is the second year for the hospital to be recognized for hip replacement.

The HealthGrades study of patient outcomes at the nation’s approximately 5,000 hospitals is one of the most comprehensive annual studies of its kind, analyzing more than 41 million Medicare hospitalization records from 2005 to 2007.  The study examines a wide range of procedures and conditions from virtually every specialty.
